Move #2 · Vendor & Venue Network
Fourteen DFW venues and planners worth knowing, what happened on Instagram today, and the three emails that go out once the name isn't cold.
Private working page · Updated 27 July 2026
Where It Stands
Seven target accounts followed, three posts liked, and every handle verified against the business's own website rather than guessed. Deliberately modest volume — a follow from a 14.9k account creates a notification someone actually opens. Forty likes creates a flag.
The List
Open-door first — places that welcome outside photographers or publish a vendor list you can actually get onto.
A co-created styled shoot is the way in. One at a time — it's a real commitment, not a mailshot.
Still avoid Walters Wedding Estates — The Olana, The Milestone, Hidden Pines, Aristide, Morgan Creek. All-inclusive with in-house photography bundled, so they will never refer out. Don't spend outreach there.
What Today Turned Up
Their newest post is 16 April. The research called them the cleanest door and that's still true — but not on Instagram. Engagement there is near-worthless. Treat them as an email-only target.
Their vendor-tag captions credit the photographer publicly alongside planner, florals, catering and rentals. One wedding in that room has visible downstream value beyond the booking itself.
Lottie & Co. has work tagged at Marie Gabrielle. The planner is a route into the venue — which makes them the single highest-leverage introduction on this page.
Trend + Tradition has under 300 followers and is booking two years out. There's no queue to join and no gatekeeper — just patience. Start early and be there when they grow.
Order of Play
The whole thing works because the email arrives from a name they've already seen. Reverse the order and it's just another cold pitch in a folder full of them.
Engage only. A few genuine likes a week across the accounts above. No messages. The single job of this phase is that your name isn't cold when the email lands.
Template A. You're handing over free images of their own space — there's no pitch to resist, and it's the strongest opener available to any photographer.
Template B, and expect less. It's the honest version of a weaker position, which still beats a manufactured one.
Template C. A styled shoot is a real commitment of a day plus editing. Offering it to six people at once is how you end up owing four of them.
One badly-timed template kills a relationship you don't get to restart. This is a six-to-twelve month build by design.
The Emails
No bullets, no "worth fifteen minutes", no emoji. Gold highlights are the parts you fill in — and the specific detail is what makes it not a template.
Venue detail already written in, taken from your own site copy. Only the couple and the month are left blank. These are the first two that should go out.

They post real weddings constantly and photographers aren't gated here, so free images of their own room are immediately useful to them. Lowest-friction send on the page.

If the new-team read is right, they may be rebuilding their vendor relationships from scratch — which makes this better timing, not worse. Don't mention the team change in the email; it reads as though you've been watching. Let it just be good timing.
For everyone else, and for the next venue you shoot.

Works because there's no ask to refuse. The vendor-list line sits at the end, deliberately soft, and the email still makes sense if they ignore it.
Subject: Dallas documentary wedding photographer — hello
Your call to make: if you'd shoot a venue at a reduced rate to get in the door, that line goes right before the sign-off. I left it out because it's a pricing decision, not a copy decision.
Subject: Styled shoot
The specific detail in line two is the entire email. A planner can tell in one sentence whether you've actually looked at their work.
Two blanks left. Both ready emails need the couple's name and the month you shot them. Everything else is written. Fill those in, give it a week of engagement first, and they can go.
