Move #2  ·  Vendor & Venue Network

The rooms and the people who fill them

Fourteen DFW venues and planners worth knowing, what happened on Instagram today, and the three emails that go out once the name isn't cold.

Private working page  ·  Updated 27 July 2026

Where It Stands

Groundwork is laid

Seven target accounts followed, three posts liked, and every handle verified against the business's own website rather than guessed. Deliberately modest volume — a follow from a 14.9k account creates a notification someone actually opens. Forty likes creates a flag.

The List

Venues

Open-door first — places that welcome outside photographers or publish a vendor list you can actually get onto.

Fort Worth. Public preferred-vendor page with a photographers category — a literal named slot to fill. Active this week.

Harwood District garden. No formal list, welcomes outside photographers — the cleanest door. But hasn't posted since April, so email is the channel.
The Empire RoomFollowedLiked
@empireroomdallas
Design District. Open trusted-vendor list. Publicly credits the photographer by name in their vendor-tag captions.

Deep Ellum, 1921 industrial. Caterers gated, photographers open. Very active, heavy real-wedding content. You've shot here — Template A applies.
Verona VillaFollowed
@verona_villa
Frisco — top suburb pick, openly expandable vendor list naming photographers. Named contact in bio: Hannah@veronavilla.com
Hotel VinTwo accounts

Grapevine, Autograph Collection. A second account @hotelvintexas also posts — the official site links this one. Confirm which the events team watches.
Arlington HallShot here · email ready
@arlingtonhallspecialevents
Turtle Creek. Open recommendation model. A recent post mentioned "the new team" — if they're rebuilding a vendor list, that's an opening, not a risk. You've shot here — Template A applies.
The Bowden
@thebowdenevents
Keller. Preferred list with open entry — needs insurance plus a signed form.

Planners

A co-created styled shoot is the way in. One at a time — it's a real commitment, not a mailshot.

Was Grit & Gold. Verified, 15.5k. BRIDES / Martha Stewart / D Weddings. Repositioned Fort Worth to Dallas. Strongest documentary pairing on the list — and they already shoot at Marie Gabrielle.
Trend + TraditionFollowed
@tntweddings
Quiet luxury, DFW. Only ~296 followers and booking 2027–28 — the cheapest relationship here to start, and your follow actually registered.
Alexa Kay EventsFollowed
@alexakayevents
Verified, 6.5k. Editorial but warm, content-forward, resharable. Lowest friction of the established names.
Sarabeth & Co.
@sarabethevents
Park Cities, 27k. Timeless work with a repeat-photographer bench. Reliability is the whole pitch here.
Keestone Events
@keestone_events
Co-shoot at the Arboretum or Hillside to get in the door.
Kiran + LeighDeprioritize
@kiranandleigh
Prestigious, but the site says "based in Texas, traveling worldwide" and the founders read as Houston-scene. Not reliably DFW-local — weak fit for a local network play.

Still avoid Walters Wedding Estates — The Olana, The Milestone, Hidden Pines, Aristide, Morgan Creek. All-inclusive with in-house photography bundled, so they will never refer out. Don't spend outreach there.

What Today Turned Up

Four things that change the plan

Marie Gabrielle is quiet

Their newest post is 16 April. The research called them the cleanest door and that's still true — but not on Instagram. Engagement there is near-worthless. Treat them as an email-only target.

Empire Room names names

Their vendor-tag captions credit the photographer publicly alongside planner, florals, catering and rentals. One wedding in that room has visible downstream value beyond the booking itself.

One relationship, two doors

Lottie & Co. has work tagged at Marie Gabrielle. The planner is a route into the venue — which makes them the single highest-leverage introduction on this page.

Small is an advantage

Trend + Tradition has under 300 followers and is booking two years out. There's no queue to join and no gatekeeper — just patience. Start early and be there when they grow.

Handles that break the obvious guess

  • It's @verona_villa, not @veronavilla
  • It's @keestone_events, not @keestoneevents
  • It's @sarabethevents, not @sarabethandco
  • It's @artspace111events for the venue — @artspace111 is the gallery
  • @gritandgoldeventco is dead. The brand is Lottie & Co. now, and reaching out to the old name would have landed wrong

Order of Play

Don't skip step one

The whole thing works because the email arrives from a name they've already seen. Reverse the order and it's just another cold pitch in a folder full of them.

1

Now, for about two weeks

Engage only. A few genuine likes a week across the accounts above. No messages. The single job of this phase is that your name isn't cold when the email lands.

2

Then the venues you've shot

Template A. You're handing over free images of their own space — there's no pitch to resist, and it's the strongest opener available to any photographer.

3

Then the venues you haven't

Template B, and expect less. It's the honest version of a weaker position, which still beats a manufactured one.

4

Planners last, one or two at a time

Template C. A styled shoot is a real commitment of a day plus editing. Offering it to six people at once is how you end up owing four of them.

5

Never mass-DM

One badly-timed template kills a relationship you don't get to restart. This is a six-to-twelve month build by design.

The Emails

Three openers, in your voice

No bullets, no "worth fifteen minutes", no emoji. Gold highlights are the parts you fill in — and the specific detail is what makes it not a template.

Ready now — the two you've shot

Venue detail already written in, taken from your own site copy. Only the couple and the month are left blank. These are the first two that should go out.

Hickory Street Annex

Send first · @hickorystreetannex

Subject: A few photos from [Couple]'s wedding at Hickory Street Annex

Hi [Name], I photographed [Couple]'s wedding at the Annex in [Month]. A few frames came back where the brick and the string lights did exactly what they do at dusk, and it seemed silly for those to just sit in my archive. They're yours if you want them. No cost and nothing attached — just a credit when you post. I'll send a gallery link with print-ready files. I shoot documentary, so I photograph a room the way it actually feels on the day rather than staging it. If you ever keep a list of photographers you hand to couples I'd be glad to be considered down the road, but mostly I just thought you should have the pictures. Erick lovepiclove.com · 214.762.8330

They post real weddings constantly and photographers aren't gated here, so free images of their own room are immediately useful to them. Lowest-friction send on the page.

Arlington Hall

Send second · @arlingtonhallspecialevents

Subject: A few photos from [Couple]'s wedding at Arlington Hall

Hi [Name], I photographed [Couple]'s wedding at Arlington Hall in [Month], and a few frames came back where the gardens looked about as good as I've seen them. It seemed silly for those to just sit in my archive. They're yours if you want them. No cost and nothing attached — just a credit when you post. I'll send a gallery link with print-ready files. I shoot documentary, so I photograph a place the way it actually feels on the day rather than staging it. If you keep a list of photographers you pass along to couples, I'd be glad to be considered down the road. But mostly I just thought you should have the pictures. Erick lovepiclove.com · 214.762.8330

If the new-team read is right, they may be rebuilding their vendor relationships from scratch — which makes this better timing, not worse. Don't mention the team change in the email; it reads as though you've been watching. Let it just be good timing.

The generic three

For everyone else, and for the next venue you shoot.

A — Venue you've shot

The strong one · use wherever it applies

Subject: A few photos from [Couple]'s wedding at [Venue]

Hi [Name], I photographed [Couple]'s wedding at [Venue] in [Month]. A few frames came back where [the garden at dusk / the brick in the west room / the light through the front windows] looked about as good as I've seen it, and it seemed silly for those to just sit in my archive. They're yours if you want them. No cost and nothing attached — just a credit when you post. I'll send a gallery link with print-ready files. I shoot documentary, so I tend to photograph a room the way it actually feels on the day rather than staging it. If you ever keep a list of photographers you hand to couples I'd be glad to be considered down the road, but mostly I just thought you should have the pictures. Erick lovepiclove.com · 214.762.8330

Works because there's no ask to refuse. The vendor-list line sits at the end, deliberately soft, and the email still makes sense if they ignore it.

B — Venue you haven't shot

Weaker by design · honest beats manufactured

Subject: Dallas documentary wedding photographer — hello

Hi [Name], I'm Erick. I photograph weddings around DFW, mostly documentary, and [Venue] is one of the rooms I keep hoping shows up on my calendar. [One specific, true thing about the space.] I know a spot on a preferred list is usually earned by shooting there first, so I'm not going to ask for one out of nowhere. Just wanted to be a name you recognize. If you ever have a couple still looking for a photographer, or you want fresh images of the space for your own marketing, I'm easy to reach. Erick lovepiclove.com · 214.762.8330

Your call to make: if you'd shoot a venue at a reduced rate to get in the door, that line goes right before the sign-off. I left it out because it's a pricing decision, not a copy decision.

C — Planner, styled shoot

One at a time · Lottie & Co. or Trend + Tradition first

Subject: Styled shoot

Hi [Name], I've been following your work for a while. [Specific: the palette on the (recent real thing) / the way you used the (detail).] I'm a documentary wedding photographer in Dallas — most of what I shoot is real days, unposed. I've been wanting to do one styled shoot with a planner whose design actually earns the frames, and get it published somewhere good. If you've got a concept you've been sitting on, I'd bring the photography and the editing, we'd both own the images, and no money moves either direction. Tell me what you've been wanting to build. Erick lovepiclove.com

The specific detail in line two is the entire email. A planner can tell in one sentence whether you've actually looked at their work.

Two blanks left. Both ready emails need the couple's name and the month you shot them. Everything else is written. Fill those in, give it a week of engagement first, and they can go.
